Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Greensboro, NC seeks an Medical Support Specialist to apply EMT skills in donor eligibility, safety, and plasma donation operations. You will work under the Center Manager and Center Physician to ensure compliant, high-quality donor care.

You will support vaccination programs, handle donor reactions, and participate in training and safety initiatives within BioLife and Takeda guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; graduate of a recognized nursing program as applicable with state requirements.
• Licensed or certified in the responsibility state: EMT-B/EMT-A/EMT-I/EMT-P, LPN/LVN, RN.
• CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete FDA-approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self-exclusion, medical history, physical examination, blood testing, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reaction(s) per SOPs and manage medical emergencies with standing orders and donor transport to care facilities.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/ER; follow EHS guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations in the local community.
