Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in the United States is seeking a Medical Support Specialist. You will determine donor eligibility, assess adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable outcomes.

You will support center operations under supervision of the Center Manager and Center Physician. The role emphasizes patient safety, regulatory compliance, and collaboration with BioLife Medical Affairs and EHS.

Qualifications

• Licensed/employed in state for EMT-B/A/I/P, LPN/LVN or RN.
• CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete BioLife Medical Support Specialist FDA training.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility by medical history interview, physical exam, and test review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs.
• Refer medical issues to Center Physician or Medical Affairs as needed.
• Support vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage incidents with EHS guidance and documentation.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS/Medical Affairs.
