Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to ensure donor safety and oversee eligibility and adverse events within plasma collection operations. You will review lab results, follow SOPs, and collaborate with Center Physicians under Medical Affairs guidance.

The role emphasizes regulatory compliance, patient care, and a commitment to quality, with responsibilities across incident management and donor support programs at Takeda-affiliated BioLife centers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; nursing program graduation may be advantageous.
• Licensed or certified in-state EMT levels (EMT-B/EMT-A/EMT-I/EMT-P), LPN/LVN or RN.
• Current CPR and AED certification; meet state IV therapy requirements.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, medical history, and reviews of test results.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical guidance.
• Support vaccination programs for employees (HBV, seasonal flu).
• Manage employee incidents per EHS guidance; participate as Pandemic Coordinator if authorized.
