Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services is seeking a Medical Support Specialist with EMT credentials to support donor safety and the plasma donation process in Saint Louis, MO. You will assess donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, review lab results, and notify donors of unsuitable tests under physician guidance.

The role requires state EMT licensure (EMT-B/A/I/P, LPN/LVN or RN), CPR/AED certification, 2 years in a clinical setting, and basic IV therapy knowledge.

Qualifications

• EMT license or certification in the appropriate state (EMT-B/EMT-A/EMT-I/EMT-P, LPN/LVN, or RN).
• Current CPR and AED certification is required.
• Two years of clinical or hospital setting experience is preferred and basic IV therapy knowledge is expected.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, medical history, and screening exams.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage emergencies per SOPs, coordinating with Center Physician as needed.
• Review laboratory test results and notify donors of any unsuitable results per policy.
• Support vaccination programs and workplace health initiatives as applicable.
