Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Saint Louis is seeking a Medical Support Specialist EMT to support plasma center operations. You will determine donor eligibility, manage adverse events, review lab results, and notify donors of unsuitable findings.

You will work under the Center Manager and Center Physician, follow SOPs, support vaccination programs, and assist with donor safety and environmental health all while upholding regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• EMT licenses (EMT-B/EMT-A/EMT-I/EMT-P) or nursing licensure (LPN/LVN/RN)
• CPR and AED certification required
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting preferred
• FDA training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist completed

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including consent, history, and acceptance requirements
• Manage donor adverse events and review laboratory test results
• Notify donors of unsuitable test results in accordance with SOPs
• Coordinate with Center Manager and Center Physician for medical issues
• Support vaccination programs and environmental health and safety (EHS) initiatives
• Handle donor safety and compliance with regulatory requirements
• Refer to Medical Affairs for guidance on medical/technical issues
• Transport donors to emergency care facilities as needed
