Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Las Vegas is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to support plasma center operations. You will determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, review lab results, and inform donors of unsuitable results, under physician/mgmt guidance.

The role requires EMT licensure, CPR/AED, and clinical experience. You will work within regulatory guidelines, support vaccination programs, and participate in safety and training initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; state requirements for licensure.
• Currently licensed or certified in the state of responsibility: EMT-B/EMT-A/EMT-I/EMT-P, LPN/LVN or RN.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete BioLife FDA-approved training for Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, medical history, physical exam, and eligibility review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and medical emergencies per SOPs; arrange transfer if needed.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance.
• Support vaccination programs (Hepatitis B and seasonal flu) as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/EHS as needed.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist with investigations.
