Job summary

Essentia Health ADA EMS is seeking a part-time EMT to respond to both emergency and non-emergency calls in Minnesota. You will assess patients, provide critical care on scene and during transport, and report details promptly to hospital staff.

You may assist RNs in hospital settings within your training scope and must hold current EMT licensure, BCLS, and a valid driver’s license. All MN/WI dual licensure requirements apply where relevant.

Qualifications

• State background check must clear to work with vulnerable adults.
• NIMS 100, 200, 700 completed.

Responsibilities

• Responds to emergent and non-emergent calls and assesses the situation.
• Provides emergency care at the scene and during transit to the hospital.
• Communicates with medical staff about patient condition and ETA.
• May assist RN with tasks as delegated and within scope of training.
• Ensures care complies with state scope of practice.

Building Location:Ada EMSDepartment:1424270 AMBULANCE - ADA EMSJob Description:Responds to emergent and non-emergent calls, assesses the situation, assesses and treats patients for emergency needs; reports patient information to medical staff in a timely and accurate manner. Obtains a basic medical history and physical examination of the patient, and assesses the situation's urgency and seriousness. Provides emergency care at the scene and during transit to the hospital. Utilizes necessary medical equipment to treat the patient and ascertains the extent of their injuries or illness. Communicates with the medical care facility about the patient's condition, status and time of arrival. May be requested to provide patient care in the hospital setting performing tasks delegated by the RN based on the scope of the individual’s training and capabilities.
