Qualifications

• Associate degree required with EMS background.
• North Carolina EMT Paramedic certification required.
• NC OEMS Level 1 Instructor Credential or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
• EMS Instructor Methodology or NA EMS Educators Level 1 course or ability to obtain within six months.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction and train employees, students, faculty, and partners by providing information, including appropriate procedures, practices and/or the operation of equipment.
• Evaluate system needs through review of education requirements, student feedback and clinical research.
• Administer education programs and activities including managing resources, time and students.
• Grade student work.
• Counsel students regarding progress and mentor students.
• Use formative and summative assessment techniques to improve learning.
• Evaluate student performance through direct observation and review of performance reports.
• Enforce policies, protocols and standards.
• Communicate effectively to individuals and groups in writing and verbally as it relates to education, training and re-credentialing.
• Develop and strengthen relationships through communication with external and internal partners and customers regarding education and training.
• Utilize software and hardware for instructional purposes including biomedical equipment, simulation tools and audio-visual equipment.

Equivalent education and experience accepted

One year EMS instruction experience (preferred)
