Job summary

Guilford County Government seeks an experienced EMS instructor to supervise and direct the delivery of emergency and non-emergency services. This role focuses on field training, orientation of new and progressing EMS personnel, and ongoing education across all levels.

You will assess competency, provide daily feedback, and help ensure compliance with regulatory standards. The position also involves performing Paramedic duties as needed within a dynamic field environment.

Qualifications

• NC EMT Paramedic certification required.
• Associate degree with 2+ years paramedic experience OR high school diploma with 4+ years paramedic experience.
• CPR, ACLS and PALS provider certifications required; PHTLS/BTLS/ITLS or equivalent Trauma Management Course.
• IC 100, 700 required; valid driver’s license.
• ACLS, PALS, Trauma Management, CPR or BLS instructor certifications within 1 year of hire; IC 200 within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct delivery of EMS services and instruction.
• Serve as field trainer for orientation of new and progressing EMS employees.
• Assess and improve competency; provide daily feedback and documentation.
• Support ongoing education and field training for all levels of staff.
• Perform duties of a Paramedic as required; participate in quality improvement.
