Job summary

The Orange County Emergency Services Department seeks a Bureau Chief, EMS Training and Development to lead the EMS training program and ensure compliant delivery of education and certification tracking.

The role requires ensuring that skills and knowledge are taught, licenses kept current, records maintained, and training standards aligned with local and State requirements; willingness to attend meetings outside regular hours is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in emergency services or emergency management, Homeland Security, Public Administration or related field AND one year of work experience as a certified Paramedic.
• Associate’s degree in emergency services or emergency management, Homeland Security, Public Administration or related field AND three years of work experience as a certified Paramedic.
• High School or GED and seven years of EMS experience with at least three years as a Certified Paramedic.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, plan and conduct EMS training programs.
• Ensure skills and knowledge are taught and licenses/certifications are current.
• Maintain records per local and State requirements and operate under departmental protocols.
