Job summary

County of Volusia seeks a Clinical Assistant to the Medical Director to lead EMS quality assurance, training, and oversight of personnel. The role requires clinical EMS experience and the ability to coordinate education, evaluate data, and implement improvement plans across the system.

The candidate will work with the county medical director, develop plans, and deliver trainings while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws.

Qualifications

• Seven years of clinical EMS experience with direct patient contact.
• Two of the seven years must include supervisory or training/mentoring duties.
• Bachelor's degree with three years of paramedic ALS prehospital experience if no seven-year path.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Reads medical records and cardiac monitor data to assess protocol adherence.
• Communicates with community partners to collect outcome information.
• Analyzes data to identify trends and deviations in EMS care.
• Designs plans to address deficiencies and implements improvement efforts.
• Coordinates meetings and trainings to promote uniform EMS care.
• Collaborates with the medical director and stakeholders to improve system efficiency.
• Prepares and delivers presentations and training exercises for groups.
• Performs other duties as assigned and responds to emergencies.
