Job summary

The City of Colorado Springs is seeking an EMS Field Specialist to lead and coordinate advanced prehospital training for the Fire Department. You will oversee EMS education programs, ensure compliance with state and local EMS regulations, and develop lesson plans, syllabi, and evaluations for CSFD personnel.

The role requires a strong background in EMS education, with current ACLS/CPR/NREMT-P credentials, instructional certifications, and experience building curriculum.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and strong EMS education background required.
• Experience developing EMS curricula and lesson plans.
• Ability to prepare clear quantitative reports and manage training programs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee, coordinate, implement, and schedule EMS training and education programs.
• Develop training materials, including lesson plans and evaluations.
• Maintain CE hours system and ensure all required topics are covered.
• Coordinate EMT certification training for recruit academy.
• Evaluate EMTs and paramedics during calls for service.
• Participate in EMS committees and guideline development.
