Job summary

Iredell County EMS is seeking a Shift Commander to serve as the administrator for two EMS shifts, overseeing scheduling, staffing, payroll, and incident investigations while providing Paramedic-level response as needed. You will supervise four shift supervisors and coordinate with multiple agencies during emergencies.

The role requires an Associate's Degree, active Paramedic certification, and 10 years in a 911 EMS service with 4 years of supervisory experience, plus NC EMS regulatory knowledge.

Qualifications

• Requires Associate's Degree and Active Paramedic certification.
• Requires 10 years in a primary 911 EMS service with at least 4 years supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of NC EMS statutes, HR processes, and incident command is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage assigned EMS shifts including scheduling, staffing, payroll, and investigations.
• Provide Paramedic-level response when required and direct EMS crews during incidents.
• Plan and direct activities of staff on shifts and ensure proper training and certification maintenance.
