Job summary

FirstEnergy Corp. is seeking a SCADA commissioning engineer to support the EMS at the Transmission Control Center.

This on-site role can be filled in Akron, OH or Fairmont, WV, and involves coordinating engineering and commissioning activities with multiple groups across the SCADA delivery process, ensuring safe, reliable operation of the grid. The position requires a BSEE/BSCE/BSME from an ABET-accredited program (PE license or ABET-equivalent options acceptable) and a FE certificate preferred,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• PE License or ABET-accredited Eng Tech degree option or non-ABET degree with advanced Electrical/Civil/Mechanical degree.
• FE Certificate preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate engineering and commissioning activities with multiple groups throughout FirstEnergySCADA delivery process.
• Perform resource scheduling, point-to-point checkouts, troubleshooting, inventory maintenance, and change-control activities.
• Issue as-left settings and provide second-level field support for commissioning activities.
• Manage SCADA asset lifecycles and coordinate maintenance programs for RTUs and related equipment.
