Job summary

Siemens Energy seeks a Senior SCADA Commissioning Engineer to serve as the technical authority for SCADA, automation, and communications on high‑voltage substation projects. You will lead testing, troubleshooting and system integration, coordinating with engineering, cybersecurity, OEMs, utilities and customers to deliver reliable grid infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field or equivalent work experience.
• 5–10 years of experience in SCADA, automation and communications commissioning for high‑voltage substations.
• Experience with RTUs/IEDs, protection relays, and substation control systems.
• Familiarity with IEC 61850, DNP3 and Modbus protocols.
• Strong communication, organizational and troubleshooting skills; ability to lead teams and manage safety and quality requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop commissioning plans, schedules, procedures and test programs for SCADA, automation and communication systems in HV substations.
• Lead testing and commissioning of SCADA systems, RTUs, HMIs, gateways and protection relays; perform end‑to‑end testing.
• Supervise and mentor commissioning teams; ensure safety, cybersecurity, quality and project compliance.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineering teams, OEMs, telecom providers, utilities and customers to resolve issues and meet milestones.
• Maintain commissioning documentation, test reports, NCRs and as‑built records; uphold standards and safety culture.
