Qualifications

  • Minimum of an Associate degree in any field from an accredited institution.
  • Must complete EMS Level A Instructor course as prescribed in Florida Administrative Code.
  • Current Florida Paramedic certification in good standing.
  • Current Fire Instructor I certification; Fire Instructor II preferred.
  • Additional credentials: LFTI/II, PALS, ACLS, CPR/BLS, PHTLS.

Responsibilities

  • Guide learning in EMS/Fire Science and related courses across campuses.
  • Assist in curriculum development; create learning activities and assessments.
  • Maintain a 40-hour work week including classroom instruction, office hours, and preparation.
  • Participate in department meetings and college committees; support institutional effectiveness.
  • Evaluate student outcomes and report as required; supervise students.
  • Maintain current knowledge of teaching methods and participate in professional development.
