Seminole State College of Florida invites applications for an adjunct faculty position in Fire Science. The role includes teaching assigned courses, developing syllabi, preparing and delivering instruction, grading, and providing timely feedback.

Faculty will use CANVAS and engage in professional development to support student success. Compensation is based on the college's Non-Bargaining Unit Salary Schedule, with part-time duties across various campus locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fire Science or closely related field with relevant certifications and six years field experience.
• Bachelor’s degree with two levels of certification and six years field experience.
• Associate degree in Fire Science or closely related field with two levels of certification and six years field experience.
• Associate degree with two levels of certification and six years field experience.
• Career certificate in Fire Science with two levels of certification and six years field experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned courses and develop syllabi.
• Deliver class, studio, clinical, or lab instruction as scheduled.
• Plan using instructional materials to enhance learning.
• Develop or modify assignments and assessments to measure outcomes.
• Grade work and provide timely, constructive feedback.
• Participate in professional development opportunities.
• Validate textbooks, post syllabi, and submit final grades by deadlines.
• Remain current with CANVAS and other tools as required by guidelines.
• Respond to student, colleague, and supervisor inquiries promptly.
• Meet with students to review course work as needed.
• Collaborate with faculty to support curricula improvements.
