Job summary

Legacy Solutions is seeking a Part-Time Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Instructor to provide high-quality instruction to high school students participating in an EMT/health sciences career pathway program in the North Fort Lauderdale area. The ideal candidate will combine practical EMS experience with a passion for educating and mentoring young people.

The instructor will introduce students to emergency medical services, patient care, safety, professionalism, and other EMT-related concepts

Qualifications

Current or recent professional experience as an EMT, Paramedic, or EMS clinician.
Florida EMS license/certification for instructional responsibilities.
Current CPR/BLS certification, as applicable.
Strong knowledge of EMS practices, patient care and safety.
Ability to communicate technical information to high school students.
Strong classroom presentation, communication and organization.
Ability to complete required background screening and school clearance.

Responsibilities

Provide classroom and hands-on instruction to high school students in EMT concepts.
Teach skills related to patient assessment, CPR/BLS, and trauma response.
Demonstrate proper use of EMS equipment and procedures.
Facilitate simulations and hands-on learning activities.
Maintain a safe, organized, student-centered classroom.
Assess student understanding and provide feedback.
Maintain attendance, grades and instructional records.
Encourage student interest in EMS and healthcare careers.
Model professionalism and teamwork in patient care.
Collaborate with school staff and Legacy Solutions as needed.
Follow all school and safety requirements.
