Job summary

Essentia Health in the United States is seeking an EMS supervisor who will oversee day-to-day operations for assigned staff, manage scheduling and training, and supervise performance. The role also includes splitting time as a Paramedic and responding to emergent and non-emergent calls with advanced medical care.

The position requires minimum two years as a paramedic, NIMS 100/200/700, and state Paramedic or RN licensure, plus BCLS/ACLS/PALS certifications. Remote/hybrid options may be available.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years’ experience as a paramedic
• NIMS 100, 200, 700
• Over 75, need to have medical permission

Responsibilities

• Supervise assigned staff including scheduling, orientation/training, employee relations and performance management
• Assist EMS Leadership with planning and evaluating delivery of services
• Evaluate, enforce clinical guidelines and departmental policies and procedures
• Provide medical emergency services and transport when scheduled or as needed
• Anticipate a minimum of 50% time on primary ambulances
• Oversee vehicle and equipment inspections and stock levels
• Respond to emergent and non-emergent calls and hospital codes with medical support
• Provide advanced medical care and BLS in pre-hospital and hospital environments
• May assist RN-delegated patient care in hospital setting
