Job summary

Paul D. Camp Community College in Southeast Virginia offers EMS instruction across Franklin, Suffolk, and Smithfield campuses with a center in Smithfield.

The instructor will design and deliver objective-driven EMS sessions per program and statewide standards, assess student performance, and provide guidance to help students achieve national certification and licensure. Responsibilities include maintaining on-campus presence, timely communication, and collaboration with program leadership.

Qualifications

• Holds an associate’s degree in emergency medical services or related field.
• Virginia certification at the Paramedic level, or eligible for NREMT paramedic.
• 3+ years’ ALS provider experience.
• Commitment to student-centered learning and academic excellence.
• Strong communication and engaging classroom management with diverse learners.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver EMS instruction at on-campus and satellite locations.
• Assess and document student progress and prepare for national certification exams.
• Maintain communication with students, staff, and college administration.
• Support events and participate in departmental activities.
• Adhere to program and VCCS guidelines and accrediting standards.
