Qualifications

• Holds an associate’s degree in emergency medical services or a related field from a regionally accredited institution.
• Virginia certification at the Paramedic level (NREMT paramedic considered).
• Three years’ experience as an ALS provider.
• Demonstrates a passion for the discipline and a student-centered philosophy in support of academic excellence for diverse learners.
• Strong communication skills and ability to leverage technology in instruction.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Program Director to design and deliver objective-driven EMS instruction across day, evening, and weekend sessions per program and VCCS standards.
• Regularly assess students in cognitive, psychomotor, and affective domains and document outcomes.
• Maintain on-campus presence and meet with students for extra help as needed; communicate with staff and administration.
• Evaluate student readiness for national certification and/or licensure exams.
• Assist with departmental and college events and projects; deliver instruction at on-campus and satellite locations.

Education

Associate degree in EMS or related field
