Job summary

Vance County is seeking an experienced EMS/Emergency Management executive to plan, organize and direct the county's Emergency Services operations, including EMS, Community Paramedicine, and Emergency Management. The role leads budget preparation, equipment approvals and program development, reporting to the County Manager.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in EMS or related fields and at least five years of supervisory experience, with strong knowledge of regulations and interagency

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in EMS, Emergency Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
• Five (5) years of experience in emergency medical services, including supervisory or management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership for EMS and Emergency Services operations, coordinating with law enforcement, fire, hospitals, and other agencies.
• Directs budgeting, equipment purchasing, and capital planning; oversees billing and cost recovery.
• Supervises hiring, training, scheduling, performance coaching and staff development.
