Job summary
Effingham County Board of Commissioners seeks an EMS Director to provide executive leadership, strategic direction, and administrative oversight for its Emergency Medical Services. The Director will manage operations, emergency preparedness, clinical quality, personnel, budgeting, compliance, and fleet readiness, coordinating with County leadership and community partners.
The role may involve paramedic-level care or vehicle operation only for exceptional needs, not routine staffing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in EMS, healthcare administration, public administration, business administration, or a related field.
- Five years of progressively responsible EMS experience, including at least three years in supervisory or management roles.
- Current Georgia Paramedic license, and BLS/ACLS credentials; valid driver's license.
Responsibilities
- Directs administrative and operational EMS department functions in alignment with County goals and budgets.
- Ensures regulatory compliance, quality improvement, and credentialing across programs.
- Manages budget, assets, data, and performance to improve service delivery.
- Provides executive leadership and coordinates with public-safety partners and community stakeholders.
