The City of Colorado Springs seeks an EMS Field Specialist to lead EMS training, cert prep, and quality assurance for the Fire Department. You will develop courses, ensure compliance, and coordinate continuing education for CSFD personnel.

The role requires strong knowledge of EMS regulations, education delivery, and instructional program management, with opportunities to shape prehospital care guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, education, life sciences, nursing, EMS, or related field.
• Five years full-time paramedic or educator experience.
• Two years EMS training curriculum instruction.
• Possess or obtain valid driver’s license without restriction.
• Current ACLS, CPR, and NREMT-P or Colorado State Paramedic Certification.
• Possess or obtain CPR Instructor and ACLS/BLS Instructor certifications.
• Possess or obtain IMS 100, 200, and 700 within twelve months of hire.

Responsabilités

• Ensure program compliance with federal, state, and local codes, laws, and ordinances and City policies.
• Assist EMS Program Coordinator with medical quality assurance and education delivery.
• Oversee, coordinate, implement, and schedule EMS training and education programs; assist in training goals.
• Monitor program performance and implement modifications as needed.
• Maintain communication with Medical Division staff and leadership.
• Maintain EMS training equipment and supplies and recommend new equipment.
• Provide oversight of EMT and paramedic certifications.
• Develop and provide classes for renewing required medical certifications.
