Job summary

Baptist Ambulance is seeking an Emergency Medical Service Dispatcher to support the greater Memphis area and assist field crews under a Status Management Plan. Dispatchers relay orders to crews via radio, phone or computer, and coordinate EMS responses for emergent and non-emergent runs.

Under EMS protocols, dispatchers collect caller information, determine run type, and document details while maintaining timely, accurate communication with management and crews.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• EMD certification required.
• EMT certification preferred.
• Strong multitasking ability.
• Computer and typing skills required.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and track EMS units per local Status Management Plan.
• Broadcast orders to crews for runs, emergencies, and general information.
• Operate radio, telephone, or computer equipment to relay information or orders.
• Take caller information, determine run type, dispatch emergent and non-emergent runs.
• Record pertinent information during dispatch operations.
