Job summary

Global Medical Response in Orlando, FL is seeking a Dispatcher for a full-time position. You will respond to emergency and non-emergency calls, assign and route transportation requests, and communicate clearly to support our providers and facilities.

A high school diploma is required. Experience in emergency dispatch or high-demand customer service is preferred. Strong English, accuracy in reporting, multitasking, and good computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year of emergency dispatch, medical or telecommunications experience, OR a minimum of 2 years of high-demand customer service experience.
• Skilled in reading and writing English.
• Capacity to communicate clearly on the radio and telephone.
• Ability to record, transmit, and report information accurately.
• Able to efficiently utilize all equipment assigned to him or her.
• Manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Possess good typing skills with speed and accuracy necessary to efficiently process emergency and nonemergency calls.
• Ability to understand basic computer applications.

Responsibilities

• Dispatchers will proficiently monitor and respond to calls and emails using established call handling time leveraging the communication and information management system to deliver excellent customer support to providers, facilities and member representatives.
• Use appropriate methods to schedule, assign, review and route transportation requests.
• Clearly document communications following protocols and processes, and properly identify and escape issues as necessary.
• Effectively communicate trip data including confirmations, routing time, issues and performance.
• Dispatchers will work collaboratively and in a professional manner with all allied health and public safety personnel as well as your fellow coworkers.
• Successful Dispatchers will demonstrate organization, multitasking and time management skills.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Skilled in reading and writing English
