Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year EMS/public safety dispatcher experience or medical/telecommunications training.
• Able to read and write English.
• Clear radio and telephone communication.
• Accurate data entry and reporting.
• Multitask efficiently and type accurately.
• Basic computer applications familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Understands and implements Emergency Medical Dispatch concepts per standards.
• Allocates EMS resources using protocols and decision rules.
• Responsible for completeness and accuracy of paperwork prior to shift end.
• Accurate data entry including State Run Report data entry.
• Generates relevant reports and checks accuracy.
• Helps locate incident scenes and selects fastest safe routes.
• Relays instructions from supervisors and emergency information.
• Keeps current knowledge of company policies and procedures.
• Follows established formats when receiving service requests.
• Familiar with equipment: computer, printers, 911 equipment, recording devices, telephones.
