Job summary

911 Emergency Communications in Providence, UT is seeking Emergency Medical Dispatchers to support urgent medical calls. You will gather patient and incident details, establish priorities, and coordinate EMS resources according to approved protocols.

Depending on training and certification, you may provide approved pre-arrival instructions and must follow the employer’s dispatch protocols and oversight requirements.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or recognized equivalent is commonly required.
• CPR certification may be required; EMT or paramedic credentials are not universal requirements.

Responsibilities

• Receive calls involving illness, injury, and other medical emergencies.
• Confirm the patient’s location, callback number, and access details.
• Ask approved questions about the patient’s condition.
• Determine response priority through the authorized medical dispatch system.
• Dispatch or coordinate ambulance resources when included in the assignment.
• Provide protocol-based instructions within current qualifications.
• Relay patient information and scene hazards to responding personnel.
• Document call processing and participate in quality-review activities.
