Job summary

911 Emergency Communications is seeking Emergency Medical Dispatchers to manage urgent medical calls, verify locations and details, and guide responders per approved protocols. Training and certifications may be required or sponsored by the employer.

Role involves extended console work, data entry, and coordinating emergency resources while ensuring patient confidentiality and adherence to oversight requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• EMD certification may be required or sponsored.
• CPR certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Receive calls involving illness, injury, and other medical emergencies.
• Confirm the patient’s location, callback number, and access details.
• Ask approved questions about the patient’s condition.
• Determine response priority through the authorized medical dispatch system.
• Dispatch or coordinate ambulance resources when assigned.
• Provide protocol-based instructions within current qualifications.
• Relay patient information and scene hazards to responding personnel.
• Document call processing and participate in quality-review activities.
