Job summary

CommuniCare Family of Companies is hiring an EMS Dispatch Director in the United States. The role oversees the daily operations of the EMS dispatch center, staffing, and compliance with regulations, while developing policies and training programs to enhance performance and reliability.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in a related field, 5+ years in EMS dispatch with 3+ years in supervision, and preferred EMD certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in emergency management, public safety, healthcare administration, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years in emergency medical dispatch with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
• EMD certification preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and ability to perform under high stress.

Responsibilities

• Leadership and Management: Supervise, mentor, and evaluate dispatch staff, ensuring 24/7 coverage.
• Operational Oversight: Manage daily dispatch center operations and ensure timely EMS resource dispatch.
• Policy Development: Develop and maintain dispatch policies and procedures.
• Training and Development: Create training programs and ensure staff certifications.
• Technology Management: Oversee dispatch software and communication systems.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct audits to ensure protocol compliance.
• Collaboration: Coordinate with EMS field ops, law enforcement, fire departments, and partners.
• Reporting: Maintain records and present performance reports to management and regulators.
• Emergency Response: Support planning for large-scale emergencies and disasters.
