Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking an EMS Dispatcher to support the Emergency Medical Services department by coordinating non-emergency transportation, including wheelchair and BLS services. The role requires strong communication, documentation validation, and timely updates to requestors and EMS crews.

This position emphasizes collaboration with case managers, social workers, and facility staff to ensure efficient dispatch and escalation of concerns through the chain of command.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year of customer service experience in a health care setting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills (MS Office and/or Google Suite).

Responsibilities

• Performs dispatch functions for the EMS department(s).
• Coordinates non-emergency transportation requests (wheelchair and BLS non-emergency).
• Manages incoming/outgoing telephone and radio communications.
• Acts as liaison between EMS and requestors (case managers, social workers, facility representatives).
• Validates requester information and documentation (e.g., PCS forms) and follows up on discrepancies.
