Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a 911 Dispatcher to support the EMS department in New Jersey. You will handle inbound and outbound calls and radio traffic, validate information, provide pre-arrival instructions, and coordinate dispatch to EMS units with accuracy and sensitivity.

The role requires strong communication skills, HIPAA familiarity, and knowledge of dispatch software and radio systems. A minimum of 3 years in EMS dispatch and relevant certifications are preferred and training is

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 3 years of dispatching EMS, law enforcement, or fire services.
• Familiarity with FCC rules and radio procedures.
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Receives and processes incoming and outgoing telephone and radio communication.
• Differentiates between routine and priority messages and responds promptly.
• Maintains confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Complies with local, state, and federal laws and guidelines.
• Records requests for service and dispatches EMS units accordingly.
• Coordinates requests with partner agencies and escalates concerns as needed.
• Maintains unit status and coordinates large-scale incident resources.
