Job summary

Tenet Healthcare is seeking a Director of Emergency Medical Services to oversee EMS activities, develop the emergency preparedness plan, and participate in Joint Commission activities. This role leads staff, plans training, and manages department budget in alignment with hospital values and goals.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree, state paramedic certification, and progression toward NR EMT-P with strong interpersonal skills and quality improvement involvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Management experience required.
• Preferred: 5 years of EMS leadership experience.
• State paramedic certification required; NR EMT-P within 6 months of start.
• AHA BLS, ACLS & PALS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing managerial leadership aligned with hospital values and goals.
• Recruit, train, motivate and evaluate staff.
• Plan and deliver training and educational programs for department staff.
• Develop and monitor the department's annual operating expenses and budget reporting.
• Communicate with staff at all levels to ensure understanding of departmental goals.
• Maintain policies and procedures related to IS.
