Job summary

Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters is seeking a Communications Specialist (EMT) to coordinate emergency patient referrals via 911 radio, telephone and other systems.

Responsibilities include receiving critical information, triaging referrals for critically ill/injured patients, and documenting data into hospital databases; reports to department leadership. Must maintain current EMT certifications and able to work under pressure.

Qualifications

• Two years of clinical/EMS experience preferred.
• Proficiency in medical terminology and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates pre-hospital emergent and non-emergent communications for trauma services activation.
• Provides emergency communications and medical dispatch per protocol.
• Collaborates with critical care transport to ensure patient and customer satisfaction.
• Activates transport missions including ground, fixed wing, rotor wing, and in-hospital support.
• Handles inbound/outbound communication using telecommunication equipment.
• Prioritizes workload independently in high-pressure, fast-paced settings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
