Job summary

Grady Health System is seeking an experienced EMS Communications Manager to lead the EMS Communications Center as the second-in-command to the Communications Director. This role focuses on ensuring timely emergency and non-emergency response, staff development, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, a background in EMS communications, and a passion for public safety and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree required.
• EMD Certification required.
• BLS CPR Certification required.
• Minimum of four (4) years of supervisory or management experience within EMS/healthcare operations.
• Experience leading teams and driving performance improvement.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day EMS Communications Center operations ensuring prompt and accurate dispatch of calls.
• Serve as operational leader and partner to Communications Director.
• Lead deployment strategies, unit utilization, and system performance to maximize efficiency.
• Mentor supervisors and staff to uphold accountability and service excellence.
• Coordinate onboarding and training with the Training Supervisor.
• Develop and enforce policies and best practices for EMS dispatch and nurse call processing.
• Monitor performance metrics and budgetary aspects; drive improvements.
• Collaborate with IT, System Directors, and leadership to ensure CAD and radio systems function effectively.
