Job summary

County Emergency Communications seeks Emergency Medical Dispatchers in Sebasco Estates, ME. You will handle urgent calls, gather patient data, establish priorities, and coordinate EMS responses using approved protocols.

The role may require overnight shifts, weekends, and overtime; training and certification support are provided. A high school diploma is commonly required and CPR/EMD credentials may be required or sponsored.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or recognized equivalent commonly required.
• Emergency Medical Dispatcher certification before appointment may be required; CPR certification may be required or sponsored.

Responsibilities

• Receive calls involving illness, injury, and other medical emergencies
• Confirm the patient’s location, callback number, and access details
• Ask approved questions about the patient’s condition
• Determine response priority through the authorized medical dispatch system
• Dispatch or coordinate ambulance resources when included in the assignment
• Provide protocol-based instructions within current qualifications
• Relay patient information and scene hazards to responding personnel
• Document call processing and participate in quality-review activities
