Job summary

Fenway Health in Boston, MA is seeking an HIM Specialist I to support the Medical Records department. You will scan documents into the EMR and route information to providers, while handling HIPAA privacy requirements and release-of-information requests.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Scan documents into the electronic document imaging system.
• Verify patient information and place into the correct EMR.
• Index scanned images in EMR and assess image quality.
• Process release of information requests in compliance with privacy laws.
• Respond to requests via telephone, fax, and email.
• Safeguard patient records and ensure HIPAA compliance.
