Job summary

FirstHealth of the Carolinas is seeking EMR Indexers for the 3rd shift to review, prepare, scan, and index incoming patient reports, and upload them into charts. You will verify patient IDs and help maintain MPI integrity while ensuring data quality and accessibility.

Requirements include a High School Diploma with preference for an Associate’s in Health Information Management and 2+ years of data-entry experience.

Qualifications

• Education and/Or Training: High School Diploma required. Preference to Associates Degree in Health Information Management or related field of study. Relevant experience may be considered in place of education if applicable.
• Work Experience: (Minimum Two Years Work Experience Preferred)
• Computer experience required, must include use of word processing, windows, and functions involving data entry. Experience in health information management or similar setting with emphasis on data entry and data integrity preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review, correctly index and upload incoming hardcopy and/or faxed patient reports into patient charts.
• Prep, scan and index documents to ensure proper image quality and sequence before release to charts.
• Assist physicians, staff, and customers in locating information and resolving MPI integrity issues.
• Verify patient identification and ensure accurate indexing of encounters, sections, or documents.
• Maintain accuracy and data integrity under time constraints.
