Job summary

ECU Health in Greenville, NC seeks an HIMS Operations Specialist III to organize and manage electronic health records, prep charts for scanning, and QA activities. You will support release of information and vital records and assist with special projects. Strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential.

Onsite, 2nd shift, Monday to Friday, full-time role with opportunities to contribute to process improvements and reporting for the HIMS department.

Qualifications

• Five years of similar work environment experience required.
• Medical Terminology and computer experience preferred.
• Notary Public certification within 6 months of employment if deemed necessary.
• Able to understand the paper medical record as well as the electronic medical record.

Responsibilities

• Prepare records for Release of Information; accurately preps/scans/QA charts.
• Perform duties for Vital Records and resolve patient identity issues.
• Prepare deficiency/delinquency lists for physicians.
• May complete special projects and run reports as needed.
