Qualifications

• Must possess a nursing license (LPN).
• Understanding of best medical record practices.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and act independently.
• Personal integrity and tact with residents and staff.
• Adherence to professional ethics in records handling.
• Ability to relay resident information to appropriate staff.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, maintain and administer the clinical records program per regulations.
• Monitor record completeness, accuracy and timeliness.
• Protect confidentiality and prevent loss or destruction of information.
• Train new employees on EMR data entry and procedures.
• Audit records for admissions, in-house, and discharge residents.
• Develop and implement system for documenting disciplines’ needs.
• Collaborate with team to keep medical records up to date.
• Assemble discharge records and transfer information as needed.
