Job summary
Life Care Centers of America is seeking a Medical Records Assistant (LPN) to support clinical records management, coding, auditing, and physician order entry in the EHR. The role emphasizes accuracy, confidentiality, and adherence to LTC regulatory guidelines.
Qualified LPNs will demonstrate knowledge of HIPAA, efficient use of EHR systems, and the ability to interact with physicians, nursing staff, and allied health personnel. This is a full-time position in a post-acute care setting.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of state and federal legal requirements for health information.
- Ability to communicate with physicians and nursing staff.
- Proficient use of complex computer systems.
- Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
- Understand and apply LTC payment systems including Medicare.
Responsibilities
- Audit and complete reviews of patients’ clinical records for documentation accuracy.
- Maintain current, overflow, and discharged record filing system.
- Enter physician orders in EHR and clarify/transcribe orders.
- Verify monthly MAR/TAR accuracy before month-end reconciliation.
- Communicate effectively with an interdisciplinary team.
- Adhere to HIPAA and Life Care compliance policies.
