Job summary

Venture Community Services Inc. is seeking an Individual Supports Caseworker to assess and teach community living skills to individuals with developmental disabilities.

The role involves direct training, home visits, and collaboration with a director-led team to support independence in the community. The position offers a 40-hour work week, a $23 per hour wage, paid training, and a $1,000 sign-on bonus for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in education, psychology, rehabilitation or related field; one year professional experience preferred.
• 60 credits toward a Bachelor's Degree with continuing study and 3 years’ experience in special education.
• Must be 21+ years old, have a High School Diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, daily use of a car on site and be available by telephone for daily contact.
• Employee must speak, read and write in fluent English.

Responsibilities

• Provide home visits to assess new referrals and implement Individual Skills Support strategies weekly.
• Maintain daily activity statistics and documentation as required by Agency and contract policy and procedure.
• Represent the department in multi-disciplinary meetings for planning and review of Individual Support Plans.
• Participate in all required staff and Agency meetings.
• Provide direct individual training in community living skills and as defined by program contract.
• Attend workshops and other continued education programs.
• Report to the Program Director of Shared Living, AFC & Individual Supports for accountability of scheduled hours.
• Compose reports as required by Agency and contract policy and procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality and positive demeanor while successfully juggling multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Maintain confidential and budgetary records in accordance with developed funds management protocols specific to each person supported.
• Communicate with Program Director of Shared Living, AFC & Individual Supports regarding service delivery reports and contract hour goals progress.
• Attendance at administrative and other meetings as required.
• Provide recommendations to your supervisor regarding ways to improve the current systems.
• Observe all Agency policies and procedures.
• Accept responsibility and accountability as part of the position.
• Maintain confidentiality and positive demeanor while successfully managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Maintain current CPR and First Aid Certifications.
• Presence in administrative office as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
