Job summary

Venture Community Services is seeking a Direct Support Professional to empower adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The role includes advocacy, daily living assistance, and community participation, with paid training provided by Venture.

The position offers full-time hours (40 hr/wk), a pay rate of $17.50–$19.00 per hour, and a $1000 sign-on bonus for full-time staff. Ideal candidates possess strong English communication and a compassionate, flexible mindset.

Qualifications

• Commitment to assisting people with varying disabilities to participate fully in their community and in their own lives.
• Ability to work as a creative, engaged, dedicated member of the team.
• Fluent English (read, write, speak).
• 21+ with reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including holidays, overnights, or double-shifts.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for and support adults 22+ with intellectual and developmental disabilities to promote independence.
• Assist with household tasks, meal prep, shopping, appointments, banking, and community outings.
• Administer medications and follow Individual Support Plans and medical guidelines.
• Follow Behavior Support Plans and safety protocols, including emergency evacuation when needed.
