Prosper ISD in Texas is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to develop and implement individualized instruction for students with diverse abilities. You will collaborate with ARD committees, adapt curricula to student needs, and monitor progress toward IEP goals.

The role involves assessment, using a range of instructional strategies and technology, supervising aides and volunteers, and coordinating with parents and staff to support student growth and successful inclusion.

• Experience with modifying curricula to meet student needs.
• Familiarity with special education procedures and confidentiality.
• Ability to collaborate with parents, staff and administrators.

• Collaborate with students, parents, and staff to develop IEPs through ARD for each student.
• Implement instructional, therapeutic, or skill development programs and document prep.
• Plan and use strategies, activities, materials reflecting students' learning styles.
• Work with teachers to modify curricula and assist special education students in regular classes.
• Participate in ARD meetings regularly.
• Assess learning styles and plan instructional activities accordingly.
• Present subject matter per IEP guidelines.
• Use various instructional techniques and media to meet student needs.
• Plan and supervise assignments for teacher aides and volunteers.

• Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement.
• Provide or supervise personal/medical care as stated in IEP.

• Manage behavior and discipline per IEP; intervene in crises as needed.
• Consult with teachers on behavior management per IEP.
• Consult district and outside resources regarding students' educational and personal needs.
• Protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities; procure needed resources.
• Assist in selection of books and instructional materials.
