Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI) is seeking a special education teacher to support K-12 students in in-district classrooms and standalone schools.

You will use SESI’s PBIS framework, CASE, and evidence-based instructional models to address learning, social, and emotional needs while collaborating with school teams and families. You will develop individualized lesson plans, manage behavior and safety, and maintain essential documentation such as IEPs and BIPs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and a valid teaching credential are required.
• Commitment to learning and implementing feedback.
• Adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic educational environment.

Responsibilities

• Work with a diverse group of students from varying developmental, cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Use SESI’s instructional models, strategies, and curricula to teach knowledge and skills, nurture confidence and character, and meet the needs of all students.
• Develop and maintain individualized skill-appropriate lesson plans.
• Implement behavior management and intervention strategies, including de-escalation techniques, crisis management, and physical restraint when necessary to maintain safety.
• Maintain student documents such as IEPs, BIPs, incident reports, and high-risk evaluation forms.
• Drive, record, and track student growth and progress toward academic, social, and emotional goals.
• Supervise and monitor students, including during transitions within the school.
