Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI) seeks a dedicated special education teacher to support K-12 students in in-district classrooms and standalone SESI schools.

Collaborate with school teams to address learning, social, and emotional needs using SESI’s PBIS framework and individualized plans. You will deliver data-driven instruction, maintain IEPs and BIPs, and contribute to a culture of inclusion with smaller class sizes and ongoing professional growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• Valid teaching credential appropriate to the role.
• Commitment to learning and implementing feedback.
• Adaptability and flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Work with a diverse group of students from varying backgrounds.
• Use SESI's instructional models, strategies, and curricula to teach knowledge and skills, nurture confidence and character, and meet the needs of all students.
• Develop and maintain individualized skill-appropriate lesson plans.
• Implement behavior management and intervention strategies, including de-escalation techniques, crisis management, and physical restraint when necessary to maintain the safety of students and staff.
• Maintain student documents such as IEPs, behavior intervention plans (BIPs), incident reports, and high-risk evaluation forms.
• Drive, record, and track student growth and progress toward academic, social, and emotional goals.
• Supervise and monitor students, including to and from locations within the school.
