Job summary

Sylvania in Champlin, MN seeks a Paraeducator for the 2026-27 school year to support students with disabilities in mainstream, resource room, or center-based settings. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma, ParaEducator certification within 30 days, 60 semester/90 quarter credits or an associate degree (or higher), and the ability to lift up to 40

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification must be completed within 30 days of start date.
• 60 sem credits or 90 quarter credits or an associate degree (or higher) from a regionally accredited institution, or ParaEducator/ParaPro exam.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and recordkeeping skills; ability to work with technology; cooperate with students and staff.
• Must lift a minimum of 40 pounds; perform toileting, feeding, self-care and related activities; work physically in the building.

Responsibilities

• Assists in instruction of students with disabilities in various settings.
• Manages behavior by redirecting, calming, or removing disruptive students.
• Monitors and records student progress in academics, daily living skills and social skills.
• Manages physical needs including toileting, feeding, dressing and transporting students in wheelchairs.
