Job summary

USD #250 Lakeside Elementary seeks an Instructional Paraeducator to assist in supervising and instructing students with special needs within general education settings and resource rooms. You will work under the supervision of the Special Education Teacher to implement plans and monitor behavior.

Responsibilities include helping with accommodations, supporting students during activities, and maintaining progress data. Immediate starting date with a 9-month calendar often involved.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 48 college hours or qualifying score on Master Teacher Online Exam within first 90 days.
• 20 hours per year of in-service training are required.
• All para educator positions are non-exempt, at-will positions.

Responsibilities

• Adapts and provides accommodations of classroom activities under the direction of the teacher to help students participate in general education and/or resource room activities.
• Aids students in and out of classroom and supports social growth and field trips.
• Maintains instructional materials and data sheets for progress tracking and materials availability.
