Job summary

USD #250 Westside Elementary is seeking an Instructional Paraeducator to assist in supervising and instructing students with special needs within regular education and resource settings. The role includes implementing instructional plans, monitoring behavior, and reporting progress to the Special Education Teacher.

The position may involve working with students across elementary, secondary, and Early Childhood settings, including those with mild to moderate disabilities who may be deaf or hard

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants must have 48 college hours or a qualifying score on Master Teacher Online Exam within 90 days.
• 20 hours per year of in-service training are required.

Responsibilities

• Adapts and provides accommodations of classroom activities under the direction of the teacher.
• Aids students in and out of classroom and assists in daily living activities.
• Supports students with challenging behaviors in accordance with school policies and IEPs.
• Maintains instructional materials and data sheets for progress tracking.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
