Job summary

USD #248 RV Haderlein Elementary in Girard, Kansas is seeking an Instructional Paraeducator to support students with special needs in inclusive and resource settings. Under supervision, you will work with students across elementary/secondary settings, contribute to IEP goals, and participate in trainings to meet state requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent. Applicants must have 48 college hours or qualifying score on Master Teacher Online Exam within the first 90 days of employment, and 20 hours per year of in-service training.

Responsibilities

• Adapts and provides accommodations of classroom activities under the direction of the teacher.
• Aids students in and out of classroom for assistance with needs and social growth.
• Assists students needing support with personal care due to medical conditions.
• Participates in trainings to meet annual State requirements.
• Collaborates with staff to support student progress as per IEP.
• Creates visual aids for students with visual impairments.
• Implements educational/behavioral programming under supervision.
• Assists students with challenging behaviors per policies and IEP.
• Instructs students in activities to meet IEP goals.
• Maintains instructional materials and data sheets.
